About the event

Contracts for Speculative Fiction Writers with Grace Carlson

Feb. 7th

Online | 10:00—11:00 AM PT

Speculative fiction writers build impossible worlds, invent unfamiliar technologies, and imagine futures that don’t yet exist—but copyright law was written for our current reality. Knowing how those laws apply to your stories can help you protect your work, avoid costly mistakes, and write with greater confidence.

This one hour webinar, will untangle copyright fundamentals specifically for speculative fiction writers. Using clear examples, we’ll discuss what copyright does (and doesn’t) protect, how characters and worldbuilding fit into the law, where inspiration ends and infringement begins, and what writers should know when submitting to magazines, anthologies, or shared world projects.

This webinar is informational in nature and does not constitute legal advice.
